about
London-based indie band Buggs (formerly BUGS) make a charming comeback with angst-ridden cut ‘Flaws’, a powerful track driven by feelings of insecurity and paranoia. Whilst everyone was baking bread and doing zoom-yoga, lead singer Alice felt herself obsessing over her own faults, creating a fervently on-the-nose track. Fresh from Green Man Festival and following their debut single release of bold statement of intent ‘Nick Gowland’, Buggs are wildly unafraid.
lyrics
I’ve been thinking about the water that collects in the soap dish,
I saw my face reflected on the surface - floating limp and hopeless,
I’m better than I’ve ever been, the liquid I’m swimming in is grease, I’m sweet I’m feeling fine,
I’ve been wondering have I been, on a scale of 1 - 10, just the worst or just some sort of after thought,
An afterthought
I don’t feel too different from before,
But I have looked and I’ve found flaws I hadn’t seen before,
And i’ve wasted so much just spent wondering about nothing at all,
I’ve been having the strangest of dreams, I dreamt that everyone I’d ever met hated me,
And I understood why - my personality is flawed,
I saw a scene play out, we were dancing back to back, two waxy mozzarella scraps drowning is the grease trap,
What I do everytime is so much worse than what i tried to do before that,
Before that
I don’t feel too different from before
But I have looked and I’ve found flaws I hadn’t seen before
And i’ve wasted so much just spent wondering about nothing at all
Nothing at all
Nothing
